Over a period of more than 50 years, poet Ralph Vile of Luray, Virginia, penned approximately 1,700 poems. In Let the Bells Ring Out on Christmas Morning: Selections from Valley Verses (paperback, 978-1-60477-610-2), the author compiled the most relevant of these poems into a collection that focuses on that holy time of year during which Christians throughout the world observe the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. Drawing from the biblical accounts, Vile reflects on what it meant when Jesus came to earth and what it would mean if He had chosen not to do so. The volume includes such works as "The Christmas Tree," "Let the Bells Ring Out!" and "The Christmas Gospel Story." Penned for individuals who want to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, this volume reflects the love, joy, and hope of God's greatest gift to mankind and points to the redemption that the crucified and risen Savior provides to all who believe in Him.

36% of Americans are not in favor of the toughened bankruptcy rules. Though a clear majority of Americans are in favor of the new law, support for it has weakened from June 2003, when the Index found that 73% were in favor of toughened bankruptcy laws and 27% opposed it. The latest survey also found that 80% of Americans say the new law would deter them from filing for bankruptcy, while 20% would be more inclined to file for bankruptcy if they were overwhelmed with debt.
The results of the Cambridge Consumer Index wildcard question show that support for the new bankruptcy law, while still strong, has been declining since the Index last asked the question two years ago. The biggest support for the law comes from white, older consumers with high incomes and more education, while the consumers who would be impacted the most-younger people with lower incomes and less education and blacks, are more opposed to toughening bankruptcy rules," says Jordan Goodman, spokesperson and financial analyst for the Cambridge Consumer Credit Index.

CheckPoint HR, an innovator and leading Administrative Service Organization (ASO) that offers mid-size organizations an integrated Human Resource Management System (HRMS) for payroll services, human resources, and benefits administration, today released its top five steps to establish an eco-conscious business environment, starting with a movement towards a paperless HR department.
The eco-conscious "green" movement encourages employers to reassess business methods to reduce office waste and decrease energy emissions. According to The State of the Paper Industry, a 2007 report by the Environmental Paper Network, if the United States cut office paper use by just 10% it would prevent the emission of 1.6 million tons of greenhouse gases -- the equivalent of taking 280,000 cars off the road. By reevaluating paper usage, an organization can simultaneously benefit from cost-savings of supplies and labor while helping the environment.

Its time someone stands up and says it: The Buy and Hold philosophy of investing is inherently dangerous for those who are retired or near retirement. It is responsible for literally millions of retirees being forced to go back to work. Yet the Financial Services industry, whose profits are built on the Buy and Hold philosophy, refuses to make changes necessary to better serve these investors.
Lets face the facts. Someone who invested $100,000 in an S&P 500 index fund at the beginning of 2000 and left it alone would have less than $78,000 today, over four and a half YEARS later!
Invariably, investors called their brokers because they were concerned about their money losing value. Almost every time they heard the worn out mantra, Just hang in there, it'll come back."
